Veronica Broomes (LLM, PhD) is an experienced Researcher, Project Manager and Consultant who has worked in strategic roles and with senior decision makers to develop new approaches and ensure successful outcomes for organisations and individuals. Building on an early career in applied science research on plant tissue culture and biotechnology, and consultancies on environment, biodiversity and sustainability issues, over the past several years she has written several articles and country case studies on strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), inward investments and organisational governance. Her book 'Who Invests Wins', Dr Broomes provides insights into how CSR can be used strategically by CEOs, Investors and Policymakers to create 'Triple Wins' that benefit people, businesses and economies.
Enhanced knowledge of strategic corporate social responsibility and negotiation skills can be demonstrated through successful completion of a Masters of Law degree (LLM) which included post-graduate courses in Business Human Rights Law and Corporate Social Responsibility and Institutional Strengthening. Current interests include business, human rights law, embedding Corporate Social Responsibility in core business operations, strengthening participation of local businesses (local content) in the supply chains of multinational corporations, supply chain audits of trans-boundary value chains and international development.
