The purpose of the International Relations course is to allow participants to gain a strategic understanding of international relations and geopolitics; to grasp the key concepts and issues affecting states in the 21st century. The purpose is to provide participants with an overview of the key issues and provide a concise and specific explanation of the challenges that face states and regions. Emphasis is placed on political geography and examining maps.

The course provides an overview of the various perspectives and tackles the modern challenges of nationalism and popularism.

Resource-driven issues, such as water and gas supplies, and specific mineral access are explored. This is linked to the shift from oil/gas and the need for more electrical grid supply for vehicles. We will explore the issues having an effect on geopolitical relations and power shifts.
